About the Position

• Hospital Nursing Assistant
• Part-time, .75-.9 FTE (60-72 hours per pay period)

Job Summary:
The Hospital Nursing Assistant serves the hospital patient population by providing assistance and direct patient care which meets the assigned unit needs through regular rounding. They will do clerical and patient care duties to facilitate efficient and comprehensive services throughout the hospital. The nurse leader may reassign to other departments as needed. You will play a vital role on the acute care nursing team by following our patients throughout their recovery process and returning them back to their independence!

Here's what you'll do when you join us:

• Demonstrate a professional and compassionate attitude towards patients, families, visitors, coworkers and other departmental representatives.
• Answers patients' call lights promptly and communicates/completes needed patient intervention.
• Handles all organizational information in a manner that ensures strict confidentiality is maintained at all times.
• Obtain patients demographics and signatures.
• Maintain department supplies and stock.
• Assist with completion of birth certificate and facility worksheet.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care as directed to include: transfers, ambulation, feeding, dressing, bathing, weighing, and toileting.
• Delivers specimens and supplies within hospital.
• Reports significant events and actions promptly to the RN.
• Applies monitors and reports to the RN the effectiveness of any safety device and/or mobility alarm.
• Assist in set up and tear down of delivery tables.
• Cleans and disinfects equipment as needed and assists in keeping unit clean and organized.

If you have these qualifications, we'd love to chat:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Graduate of a Nursing Aide program. Certification and current listing on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry preferred.
• BLS Certification or ability to obtain within two months of hire and maintains certification.
• 6 months experience within the last 2 years in an ambulatory or inpatient health care setting with ability to multi-task and manage multiple patient/family/nursing/physician priorities within short time frames required.
• Demonstrated ability to adhere to and follow Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital Mission, Values, Vision and policies.
• Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.

*If no candidates meet the above requirements, consideration will be given to those with 3 months relevant ambulatory or inpatient health care setting experience within the last 2 years.
