Job summary

Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) is seeking a Security Officer for the St. John's Hospital campus in Springfield, IL. The role provides a visible, professional presence, responds to incidents calmly, and enforces safety protocols to support a positive patient and visitor experience.

The schedule is night shift, full-time, 6:00pm–6:00am. A relevant degree or experience in law enforcement/security is required, plus MOAB training and OC certification; driver’s license required; 1 year security

Qualifications

• Associates degree in law enforcement, criminal justice or related field is required.
• High School Diploma, GED or related vocational training plus 3 years of experience as a security officer, law enforcement, or military may be considered in lieu of an Associates degree.
• 1 year of experience with knowledge of private security functions required.
• Valid state driver's license required.
• MOAB training/certification is required at hire or within 90-days of date of hire.
• OC Certification within the first 90 days of employment is preferred.

• Serve as a visible and professional presence to help ensure a safe environment across HSHS facilities.
• Respond calmly and courteously to incidents while upholding safety protocols.
• Support a positive care experience for patients, visitors, and colleagues.
