Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) seeks a Security Officer for St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. The role provides a visible security presence, responds to incidents with composure, and supports a positive patient experience.

Requirements include an Associates degree in law enforcement or related field, or a high school diploma with 3 years security experience. Valid driver's license, MOAB, and OC certifications are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in law enforcement, criminal justice or related field is required.
• High School Diploma, GED or related vocational training plus 3 years of experience as a security officer, law enforcement, or military may be considered in lieu of an Associates degree.
• Valid state driver’s license is required.
• MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) training/certification is required at hire or within 90-days of date of hire.
• OC (Oleoresin Capsicum) certification preferred within 90 days of employment.

Responsabilités

• Serve as a visible, professional presence to promote a safe environment across HSHS facilities.
• Respond calmly and courteously to incidents while following safety protocols.
• Act as a first/last point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Assist in maintaining security procedures and secure access as needed.
