Job summary

INDLABPHARM in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Microbiology Lab Supervisor to oversee hospital laboratory operations, ensure quality and regulatory compliance, and provide technical expertise. The role includes staffing, scheduling, training, QC, and collaboration with clinical teams.

The position emphasizes strong leadership, infection control, and process improvement, with relocation assistance and a competitive benefits package. 40 hours/week, M-F days shift, no on-call required.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or higher preferred.
• 1-2 years of related experience in the profession required.
• 1-2 years of previous leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily laboratory operations including staffing, scheduling, workflow management, and supply inventory.
• Oversees laboratory testing processes ensuring timely, accurate results in compliance with CAP, CLIA, Joint Commission, and other standards.
• Manages QC and proficiency testing, documents corrective actions, and ensures accreditation compliance.
• Leads and develops laboratory staff including competency assessments, training and evaluations.
• Monitors equipment, preventive maintenance, and escalates issues to leadership.
• Supports financial management by monitoring supply usage and cost-effective reagents.
• Facilitates communication with clinical teams and maintains collaboration with leadership.
• Maintains safe and compliant work environment with infection control and safety protocols.
• Drives continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency and patient care.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains reliable attendance.
