Job summary

Houston Methodist seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform routine and complex analyses, ensuring accurate specimen accessioning and efficient processing to deliver quality results. Non-exempt status. Must meet certification eligibility within 18 months for listed boards; bachelor's degree required and hospital lab experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• One year of work or training experience in a hospital laboratory preferred.
• Certification eligibility within 18 months for listed certs (ASCP/AMT/NCA/ABHI).

Responsibilities

• Performs qualitative and quantitative tests using various analyzers and/or manual methods.
• Organizes workload and sets priorities to meet turnaround time standards.
• Promotes a positive, collaborative work environment within the patient care team.
• Maintains accurate records and ensures proper specimen accessioning and processing.
• Interacts with patients and physicians with a customer-service focus.
