Job summary

BioMedical Services, Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to support the Materials Management/Supply Chain teams in procuring goods and services for internal and external customers.

The role involves researching supplier options, resolving purchasing issues, and ensuring purchase orders are confirmed and delivered on time. The ideal candidate has a High School diploma with AA degree preferred, one year of general office experience, and knowledge of MMIS/EDI systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• AA degree preferred.
• Previous hospital purchasing experience preferred.
• Minimum of one year of general office experience.
• Knowledge involving acquisition of equipment, supplies and policies & procedures.
• Knowledge of computer-based inventory systems.
• Ability to utilize MMIS and EDI.
• Strong communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist requisitioners and hospital staff in procuring goods and services for internal and external customers.
• Identify, research, analyze and resolve purchasing issues with departments and suppliers.
• Communicate discrepancies, pricing, substitutes and backorders with department managers.
• Confirm purchase orders with outside vendors.
• Expedite deliveries and coordinate with Receiving and Accounting on issues.
• Monitor delivery expectations and communicate delays to stakeholders.
• Work with suppliers to expedite and improve delivery performance.
• Review inventory order patterns and quantities.
• Maintain open communication with all departments and prioritize duties for productivity.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
