Job summary

Gateways Hospital in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to perform building upkeep and basic trades. The role requires knowledge of regulatory codes and standards, with duties spanning plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting and general maintenance.

This non-exempt, non-union position reports to the Director of Facility Management, supporting a 24/7 healthcare environment. Candidates should have a high school diploma and trade training, be able to pass background checks, and

Qualifications

• Knowledge of regulatory policies and codes related to engineering and environment of care responsibilities.
• Experience with basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, and general building upkeep.
• Ability to document inspections and maintenance activities.
• Ability to work with a supervisor and other staff in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of building systems.
• Repair or modify electrical, plumbing, doors, walls, ceilings, and fixtures.
• Operate and document generator testing for emergency power.
• Maintain safety and security systems and comply with environment of care standards.
• Coordinate with vendors for materials and services as needed.
