Job summary

Essentia Health Virginia Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventative maintenance across medical campus systems, including pressure boilers, HVAC, fire safety, emergency generators, and patient care equipment. The role requires a 2-year vocational or apprenticeship or 3 years in maintenance, plus boiler operator licensing within 6–18 months.

Shift rotations include day/evening/night with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Provides routine and preventative maintenance on boilers, basic HVAC, fire safety systems, emergency generators, and patient care equipment.
• May provide emergency repairs and mentor/guide assigned team members within license scope.
• Requires driving eligibility as per insurer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on pressure boilers, basic HVAC, fire safety systems, emergency generators, and patient care equipment.
• Provide general work direction within license scope to assigned team members.
• Coordinate with hospital operations to minimize patient impact during maintenance.
