Job summary

Mary Free Bed in Grand Rapids is seeking a Day Shift, part-time Linen Associate (20 hrs/week). The role supports patient care by ensuring adequate linen supply, proper infection control, and timely distribution of clean and soiled linens across units.

Essential qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent; physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs and stand for extended periods. Sewing machine experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/Equivalent preferred but not required.
• Physical demands: able to lift 50-70 pounds occasionally, stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Fills linen orders and places linen orders.
• Receives clean linen from linen service.
• Places par level linen on exchange carts.
• Documents the distribution to provide sufficient, but not excessive linen to units.
• Checks linen stocks, calculates need/area, and delivers replacement linen to units.
• Monitors and transports soiled linen carts from patient floors and laundry chute to the soiled linen storage room.
• Collects linen use data and monitors indicators such as billings, census, reports, supplies.
• Decides order amounts and notes excesses or abuse.
• Budgets and plans; develops a historical file for cost accounting accountability.
