Job summary

BURL Outreach Clinical Laboratory in Burbank is seeking a Laboratory Technician 2 to support operations and provide phlebotomy services.

You will perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages, prepare specimens, coordinate couriers, triage samples, enter data, generate labels, and document procedures. The role may require coverage at multiple LA-area labs.

This position offers competitive hourly pay and opportunities to work across BURL locations.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification or equivalent preferred.
• Experience drawing blood from patients of all ages.
• Familiarity with lab information systems.

Responsibilities

As a Laboratory Technician 2 at the BURL Outreach Clinical Laboratory in Burbank, you will play a vital role in supporting laboratory operations and providing high-quality phlebotomy services. Your duties will include:

• Perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages.
• Prepare specimens for analysis.
• Assist in coordination of couriers and routes, including follow-ups on service delays.
• Triage all lab samples and requests after verification of appropriate information.
• Enter and verify patient and test info into computer.
• Generate computer labels for specimens and deliver to appropriate areas.
• Prepare samples for transport to referral labs or storage.
• Document draws, added tests, and cancelled/rejected specimens.

Salary Range: $36.49 - $48.13/hour

May be required to provide coverage as needed at all BURL locations including Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, Woodland Hills, Santa Clarita, Porter Ranch, Calabasas, Burbank, Century City, Encino, Panorama City, and Torrance.
