Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or higher.
• Education/work experience meeting the qualifications of moderate and/or high complexity Testing Personnel, Technical Consultant, Technical Supervisor or General Supervisor as defined by CLIA 42 CFR Part 493 Subpart M.
• Certification from a nationally recognized certifying agency required. ASCP (or equivalent) certified preferred. Some laboratory disciplines may require more stringent certification criteria.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a department expert and performs bench testing duties.
• Interviews applicants for open positions.
• Establishes orientation and training for new staff in their area of expertise.
• Ensures training is completed and that staff knowledge gaps are addressed.
• Mentors staff and drives continuous improvement.
• Maintains quality control, proficiency testing, and regulatory readiness.
• Leads meetings with staff and lab director; ensures safety and proper handoffs.
