Job summary

HCA HealthONE Presbyterian St. Luke's Laboratory is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to efficiently organize the desk, reception area, and specimen procurement while addressing patient needs and coordinating with hospital teams.

The role requires greeting outpatients, answering questions about specimen collection, and performing general lab duties with a focus on quality service. A phlebotomy certification is preferred, and hospital-lab experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Licensure/Certification/Registration: Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
• Education: N/A
• Experience: Experience in a hospital laboratory is desired, but not necessary.
• Special Qualifications: The Laboratory Assistant must have good customer service and communication skills. Basic computer skills are needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Laboratory Specimens Desk, Reception Area, and specimen procurement to support efficient operations.
• Greet outpatients, answer questions about specimen collection and time elements, and interface between hospitals, departments, physicians and labs.
• Obtain blood specimens and provide quality service while performing general laboratory duties.
• Represent the Laboratory with professional appearance and demeanor; perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.
