Job summary

STHS McAllen is seeking a cook with hospital/kitchen experience to join our in-house food service team. The role requires familiarity with food safety, sanitation, and proper handling of meals for patients and guests.

You will prepare, bake, roast, grill, and plate items, assist with tray-line assembly, and help maintain a clean, safe kitchen. English/Spanish communication and a High School diploma or GED are required, with 2–4 years in institutional cooking.

Qualifications

• Read, write, and communicate in English and Spanish.
• 2–4 years of hospital, nursing home, school or institutional cooking.
• Must demonstrate commitment to the Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Operate and prepare meals with attention to sanitation and safety.
• Cook, bake, roast, grill, steam all types of food per standards.
• Assist with tray-line assembly and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
• Help with planning and prepping for the next day.
