Job summary

Morrison Healthcare in Abingdon, VA is hiring a full-time Cook to join our patient-focused dining team. You will prepare meals according to federal, state and corporate standards, ensure quality, safety, and timely service for patients and staff.

Daily hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays. Previous food service and cooking experience is preferred; you will work in a supportive, safety-conscious environment committed to high culinary standards.

Qualifications

• Prepares food according to recipes and standards per policies.
• Ensures quality food service at all times.
• Prior food service and cooking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares high-quality food items according to recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
• Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning and temperatures.
• Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat; stores items per standards.
• Assists in production planning and ordering of food and supplies as required.
• Performs HACCP and safety procedures during service.
