Job summary

Woodland Springs, a Lifepoint Health behavioral health facility, is hiring a Cook to deliver meals on schedule and follow dietary guidelines. You will collaborate with the Registered Dietitian and supervise kitchen staff to ensure quality food service in a compassionate environment.

You should have prior food service or customer service experience, with preferred healthcare exposure, and strong communication skills in English.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior food service or customer service experience with cooking experience preferred.
• Prior healthcare experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure meals are ready at the specified times and test foods for proper seasoning.
• Consult with the Registered Dietitian on modified diets, as necessary.
• Supervise Nutritional Services workers when washing, trimming or preparing food.
• Measure and mix ingredients according to approved recipes, using blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers, etc.
• Cook meat, fish and poultry in a variety of ways such as baking, roasting, broiling and steaming.
• Maintain kitchen in a clean, neat and organized manner and adhere to all infection control policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
