Job summary

Boston Medical Center - South is seeking a General Service Technician - Unlicensed HVAC Mechanic to install, maintain and repair hospital HVAC, refrigeration and related components. You will test, overhaul, and service air conditioning, ventilation and associated equipment, while working with piping, motors and controllers.

The role requires at least three years of HVAC installation or repair experience in a facilities environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Building Automation Systems operation.
• Experience brazing and silver soldering.
• Understanding of pneumatic and electronic control systems (Johnson/Siemens).
• Ability to read plans and blueprints and follow instructions.
• Familiarity with CMMS record keeping and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance of HVAC, refrigeration, and related components.
• Operate and overhaul air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration systems.
• Maintain HVAC equipment and regulate pneumatic and electronic controls.
• Set up scaffolding and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Keep accurate records of work in CMMS and inventory supplies.
