Job summary

Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA, is seeking a dedicated HVAC/R Mechanic for full-time work. You will inspect, troubleshoot, install, repair, and maintain HVAC/R systems, boilers, and associated piping, with on-call rotations on weekends and holidays as required.

Required: Journeyman HVAC/R license within 3 years (waived if hired before 2021) and EPA Universal Certification within 1 year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Journeyman HVAC/R license within 3 years (waived if hired before 2021).
• EPA Universal Certification within 1 year.
• 2 years HVAC experience preferred.
• Trade/vocational HVAC training preferred.
• Apprenticeship completion preferred.
• Experience reading blueprints preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, install, repair, replace, and maintain HVAC/R systems, boilers, pumps, valves, and piping.
• Read blueprints and schematics to diagnose and repair units.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and assist with maintenance tasks as needed.
• Respond to on-call rotations and emergencies on weekends/holidays.
• Maintain inventory and ensure safety compliance.
