Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Reno, NV seeks an Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic to install, troubleshoot, and perform preventative maintenance on HVAC/R systems across the Sierra Nevada Health Care System campuses.

The role requires operating and repairing environmental control systems, plus handling refrigeration equipment and controls throughout hospital facilities. Responsibilities include diagnosing complex problems, following instructions and specifications, and performing

Qualifications

Experience demonstrated in equipment installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Ability to read and interpret instructions and specifications (blueprints).
Knowledge of HVAC/R systems and controls.
Experience may be paid or voluntary; both considered for qualification.

Responsibilities

Repairing - troubleshooting - maintaining and installing air conditioning equipment in the hospital and ancillary buildings.
Installing - troubleshooting - repairing and maintaining refrigerators - freezers and ice machines.
Operating and repairing environmental control systems, sensors, actuators and LAN devices.
Troubleshooting and diagnosing a wide range of HVAC functions including heating, cooling, humidification, dehumidification and air cleaning.

Work Schedule: 7:30am - 04:00pm - Monday-Friday
