Job summary

Nash UNC Health Care seeks an Area Tech in Housekeeping to maintain a clean, sanitary and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, visitors and staff. This position does not provide direct patient care and reports to NGH Housekeeping.

Responsibilities include cleaning occupied patient rooms, discharge rooms and care areas; entering data into the bed tracking system; inspecting areas; and training new area techs. Work Type: Full Time, 40 hours, onsite, Day Job.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Housekeeping experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions, to include MSDS sheets, policies and procedures.
• Ability to understand verbal communications.

Responsibilities

• Cleans occupied patient rooms.
• Cleans discharge rooms for incoming patients.
• Cleans support areas and critical care areas such as nurses stations, lounges, ICU and isolation rooms.
• Enters data into the bed tracking system.
• Inspects ancillary and patient areas and projects.
• May serve as a team leader who plans and schedules tasks, trains staff, and inspects areas throughout the hospital.
• Strip, wax, dust mop and damp mop floors; vacuum and extract carpets.
• Trains and instructs new area techs in hospital policies and procedures.
