Job summary

UNC Health Nash is seeking Area Tech staff to maintain a clean, sanitary hospital environment in Nash County, NC. These positions focus on cleaning occupied patient rooms, discharge areas and support zones, without direct patient care.

You will follow prescribed procedures, enter data into the bed tracking system, and may lead a small team. A high school diploma and housekeeping experience are preferred, with onsite daytime shifts.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions, including MSDS sheets, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Cleans (dusts, disinfects, mops, restocks, pulls trash and inspects) occupied patient rooms.
• Cleans discharge rooms in a timely manner for incoming patients.
• Cleans support areas and critical care areas such as nurses stations, lounges, intensive care units and isolation rooms.
• Enters data into the bed tracking system.
• Inspect ancillary and patient areas and projects.
• May serve as a team leader who plans and schedules tasks, makes work assignments, trains staff, controls bed tracking and inspects all areas throughout the hospital.
• Strip, wax, dust mop and damp mop floors. Vacuum, bonnet and extract carpets.
• Trains and instructs new area techs in proper hospital policies and procedures.
