Job summary

Horizons HR Services Inc. seeks Housekeepers/Janitors to work in a major hospital. This role offers on-site duties maintaining clean patient rooms and common areas, with room for career growth.

Wages start at $15.00 per hour with weekly pay. After 90 days, raises to $17.00–$19.00 per hour are possible. Full or part-time schedules, plus comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401K and disability insurance, are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be able to read and write and perform simple math.
• Ability to work quietly and quickly in patient areas.
• Excellent organizational skills and neat appearance.

Responsibilities

• Make beds, replenish linens, clean rooms and halls, and vacuum.
• Replace soiled linen and towels, restock soap and tissues, disinfect bathrooms.
• Report anything not working properly.
• Handle lost-and-found items for previous occupants.
• Complete maintenance and room check paperwork.
• Work in assigned areas including patient rooms, corridors, lobbies, and offices.

Housekeepers perform a combination of cleaning duties to maintain hospital cleanliness, in a clean and orderly manner.

• Duties include making beds, replenishing linens, cleaning rooms, and halls, and vacuuming.


• Replace soiled linen and towels, restock soap, tissues, and drinking glasses, disinfect bathroom, polish and dust surroundings, remove all trash, sweep and mop.


• Report if anything in room that may not be working properly.


• Send to lost and found any times that previous occupant may have left.


• Paper work such as maintenance logs, productivity logs or room check sheets


• Work in assigned area, patient rooms, hall ways, lobby, lounges, office, and main areas.


• High School Degree or G.E.D. preferred. Current student considered.


• Be able to work quietly and quickly in patient area


• Excellent organizational skills


• A neat, clean appearance


• Must be able to read and write to facilitate proper communication with others.


• Mathematical ability required. Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations.
