Kahuku Medical Center located in Kahuku, Hawaii, seeks a detail-focused unit clerk to support the nursing team with clerical, receptionist, and secretarial duties for smooth unit operations.

Responsibilities include handling admissions/discharges, coordinating transport, data entry into Cerner, and maintaining accurate patient charts. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential; Hawaii CNA license preferred. This is an on-site role supporting the ER and nursing staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Accurate typing skills required.
• Computer skills with word processing programs required.
• Hawaii Certified Nurse Aide License preferred.

Responsabilités

• Calls ambulance transfers, setting appointments, transportation, etc. and notifies RN.
• Assembles and prepares charts, consents and forms for admissions, discharges, transfers, and deaths.
• Inputs and extracts data using hospital computer programs.
• Keeps patient charts current by scanning documents into Cerner.
• Ensures accuracy of patient forms with correct labeling and allergy information.
• Activates emergency personnel in code situations via appropriate devices.
• Delivers specimens, requisitions, messages, mail to nursing staff.
• Orders and organizes clerical supplies and ensures adequate quantities.
• Performs clerical duties related to ER procedures.
• Complies with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
