Job summary

The Psychiatric Institute of Washington (PIW) is seeking a dependable Food Service Worker to join our Nutrition Services team. You will prepare patient meals, maintain a clean, safe dining area, and support efficient hospital food service operations.

Ideal candidates have hospital food service experience, CPR/BLS, and a commitment to food safety and teamwork in a behavioral healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of six months of experience working in a hospital setting.
• CPR/BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Experience cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment and food service areas.
• Sanitation Service Certificate.
• Ability to follow established food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble patient meals with accurate portions and proper tray organization.
• Support timely meal service by delivering and collecting patient trays and supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, dishes, and workstations.
• Monitor dishwashing temperatures and report sanitation or equipment issues.
• Assist with inventory, deliveries, and storage of food and materials.
• Follow safety procedures when handling food and cleaning supplies.
• Collaborate with the Nutrition Services team to ensure high-quality service.
