Job summary

The Psychiatric Institute of Washington (PIW) is hiring a Food Service Worker to join our Nutrition Services team. You will prepare and assemble patient meals, deliver trays, and maintain a clean, sanitary dining environment for patients receiving behavioral healthcare.

You will work to ensure timely service, monitor equipment and temperatures, and collaborate with staff to provide compassionate, high-quality meals in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months hospital experience preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Experience cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment and areas.
• Sanitation Service Certificate required.
• Ability to follow safety, sanitation and infection control procedures.
• Effective communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble patient meals according to procedures.
• Deliver and collect patient trays and assist with meal service.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, dishes, and work areas.
• Monitor equipment readiness and report sanitation or equipment issues.
• Receive deliveries, store supplies, and replenish serving items.
• Follow safety procedures when handling food and cleaning supplies.
• Collaborate with Nutrition Services to maintain high-quality service.
