Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a dedicated food service worker to perform routine tasks in our hospital setting. The role involves meal preparation, dishwashing, tray delivery to patients, and maintaining clean kitchens and dining areas.

Applicants should be able to read and follow instructions, lift moderately heavy items, and work evenings 12pm-9pm with weekends on a rotating schedule. Union Teamsters membership is part of the work environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read English and follow oral or written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of foods such as meats, vegetables, baked goods, and desserts; prepare foods to include beverages, salads, dressings, sandwiches, and cold plates.
• Operate food service equipment including slicers, mixers, vertical cutters, choppers, Robot Coupe, blender, dish machine, and other equipment.
• Transport food or supplies to areas, assemble and replenish food, ensure proper food temperatures, and portion servings.
• Clean assigned areas following sanitary procedures; sweep and mop floors as needed.
• Clean soiled dishes; load and unload and sort refuse; manage conveyor, racks and carts.
