Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of prior food service experience preferred.
• Allergen Awareness Certification - VA (Required) or willing to obtain within 180 days.
• Food Handlers Card (FH) - VA (Required) or Food Protection Manager Certification - VA (Required).

Responsibilities

• Prepare foods following recipes and production worksheets per policy and regs.
• Slice meat, chop fruits/vegetables, and prepare salads and sandwiches.
• Serve meals with proper portion control and plate presentation.
• Follow therapeutic menus to ensure diet guidance is met.
• Assemble patient trays accurately per tray tickets and diet orders.
• Maintain food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance throughout the shift.
• Use FIFO to minimize waste; label and date all products as required.
• Demonstrate positive communication with patients and staff; assist others as needed.
• Complete cleaning tasks and report any issues to supervisor.
