Job summary

St. Tammany Health System in Covington, LA is seeking a flexible kitchen/dishwashing associate. Responsible for general cleaning of kitchen, sanitizing dishes, collecting garbage, maintaining logs, and supporting tray delivery to patients while upholding CARES and HACCP standards.

No experience required; must communicate effectively and follow instructions, be able to work 5:30 am–8:00 pm including weekends/holidays; lifting up to 50 pounds; essential during emergencies.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
• Must be able to work anytime on weekdays, weekends and holidays between 5:30 am and 8:00 pm.
• This position is considered essential during emergency conditions.
• Willingness to comply with dress code, CARES and HACCP standards.
• Must be able to learn proper procedures for washing and sanitizing equipment, dishes & pots and pans.
• Must be able to follow guidelines for tray/cart delivery and pick up.

Responsibilities

• Clean kitchen areas and equipment, including dishes, silverware, pots, and pans.
• Collect and dispose of garbage, maintain sanitation logs.
• Maintain correct dilution of chemicals and operate dish machine.
• Clean floors, walk‑ins, storage areas and kitchen.
• Assist with tray assembly and delivery to patients within established timelines.
