Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a Floor Care Technician to join the Environmental Services team. This full-time position covers floor care and routine housekeeping within a hospital setting, with a day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

You will follow established cleaning procedures, operate related equipment, and provide safe and courteous service to patients, visitors and staff. Evening and weekend rotations may apply, with guidance from a supervisor when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions in writing and orally.
• Ability to read and write information in English regarding Duty list, Instructional information, and policies and procedures.
• Ability to use alphanumeric pager and telephone.
• Customer service core competencies for interaction with patients, families, visitors and hospital staff.
• Able to work independently.
• On-the-job experience as a housekeeper and floor tech at Holy Cross Hospital or similar healthcare institution.
• Equipment: Good physical condition and ability to use hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Floor Care Technician performs floor care and housekeeping duties for Environmental Services.
• Apply advanced cleaning techniques and operate department equipment.
• Provide timely, courteous, and safe services for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Accept additional assignments to support service excellence.
• Evenings/weekends may involve direction from the Supervisor or Assistant Director.
• May receive guidance from the Nursing Department as needed.
