Job summary

Medical City Decatur is seeking a Floor Care Specialist to join our Environmental Services team. You will perform routine floor care, clean and care for assigned areas, and disinfect patient rooms daily to promote a healing environment.

You will use specialized janitorial tools, follow PPE requirements, and follow procedures for safe disposal of infectious and hazardous waste. Good communication with staff and teamwork across departments is essential to patient safety and facility cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Healthcare or service-related experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with hazardous waste materials is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively with team members and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine floor care: vacuum, mop, buff, and wax floors.
• Clean and care for assigned areas, including linen room and waste handling.
• Attend patient care areas, therapy areas, halls and foyers as needed.
• Disinfect patient rooms, offices, restrooms using proper PPE and procedures.
• Dispose of infectious and hazardous waste following standard procedures.
