Job summary

UPMC Passavant is hiring a Full‑Time Floor & Project Technician to support the Housekeeping team at 9100 Babcock Blvd, Pittsburgh. The role is on-site with a 2nd shift (2pm-11pm) and offers opportunities for growth within a Magnet® designated hospital environment.

Responsibilities include emergency cleanups, carpet care, floor maintenance, and equipment handling while adhering to safety standards to protect patients, visitors, and staff. HS diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required; 1 year of previous experience may substitute HS Diploma/GED
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions to complete housekeeping duties
• Ability to operate all housekeeping equipment
• May be in rooms where medications are stored; no contact with medications is allowed
• Act 34 clearance is required

Responsibilities

• Handle emergency cleanups with proper sanitizing procedures
• Shampoo and extract carpets in assigned areas
• Maintain floors by removing soil, wax, and sealers
• Inspect assigned areas and report issues to supervisor
• Use and care for equipment safely and responsibly
• Follow safety and sanitation standards to protect patients, visitors, and staff
• Work within hospital policies and support system‑wide behaviors
• Perform other duties as needed to support the team
