Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta seeks a maintenance technician to provide maintenance, engineering, and mechanical system support across hospital campuses. You will inspect, test, maintain, install, and repair systems while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance in patient care areas.

Candidates should have at least 3 years of trade experience (electric, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, refrigeration or locksmith), high school diploma, and read blueprints. HVAC certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• 3 years of trade experience in electricity, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, or related fields.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• HVAC Certification preferred.
• Universal Refrigeration Certification preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Knowledge of healthcare facility systems and codes.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Performs planned and general maintenance on systems and equipment, including inspecting, testing, maintaining, installing, and repairing.
• Keeps accurate logs of work in mechanical rooms and knows major building systems operations and valve locations.
• Uses hand, diagnostic, and power tools, observing proper on-site handling.
• Keeps tools and mechanical rooms clean, safe, and organized.
• Assists in purchasing parts and materials for maintenance according to procedures.
• Meets in-service requirements and complies with infection control and safety standards.
