Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to ensure facility reliability across hospital systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and related trades. The role involves preventive maintenance, repairs, and multi-disciplinary tasks to support patient care environments.

You will work with a team to maintain safe operations, handle equipment and building systems, and comply with regulatory standards while contributing to a compassionate, patient-centered workplace.

Qualifications

• Experience with preventive maintenance, equipment repair, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or construction.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work at heights.
• Strong safety awareness and willingness to work shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely and effectively test and operate emergency power supply systems (EPSS) and components.
• Install/maintain/repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, pneumatic, oxygen, and telephone systems.
• Work independently within scheduled timeframes under supervisor guidance.
• Maintain skills in auto, carpentry, pneumatics, hydraulics, and computer systems.
• Plan, interpret, inspect, draw, and record work; report daily completion to supervisor.
• Perform general maintenance, building repairs, and equipment overhaul within deadlines.
• Maintain knowledge of facility systems and regulatory standards.
