Job summary

Orlando Health is seeking an Assistant Manager, Facilities for the Lake Mary Hospital campus. The role oversees day‑to‑day buildings, equipment, furnishings, fixtures, and grounds to ensure a safe work environment and regulatory compliance.

The position requires an associates degree or equivalent experience, five years of facility maintenance with three years in supervision, and knowledge of healthcare codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or construction management, or equivalent experience.
• Five years of facility maintenance experience, including three years in a supervisory capacity; knowledge of healthcare codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to the engineering team by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving problems related to equipment, utilities, and building systems.
• Plans and implements corrective and preventive maintenance programs.
• Controls costs for optimal operation of equipment and satisfactory results from maintenance or repair work performed by assigned personnel.
• Ensures timely completion of all maintenance tasks and reports anomalies to engineering leadership.
• Manages parts, supplies, product selection, and procurement needs through the organization’s purchase order system or procurement cards.
• Leads engineering projects and performs day‑to‑day project management duties.
• Provides management support for planning and coordinating contracted maintenance activities with vendors.
• Supports the Facilities Manager or Sr. Facilities Manager with daily operations and assumes responsibility during their absence.
• Communicates assignments, activities, needs, and concerns with the Manager and senior facilities staff.
• Ensures staff and assigned areas meet all standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintains compliance with AHCA, TJC, and all local and state regulatory agencies through regular life safety and EOC document reviews.
• Keeps all licensure requirements current and up‑to‑date.
• Promotes a team environment, serving as a role model and team player across departments.
• Manages personnel functions, including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and disciplinary actions.
• Maintains regular, punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies and applicable federal, state, and local standards.
• Ensures compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
