Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, PA is seeking a Plumber for full-time employment. The role covers installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems across the hospital, including medical gas and vacuum piping, fire protection, and water supply networks.

The ideal candidate is a Journeyman Plumber (or equivalent) with a strong understanding of safety protocols, blueprint reading, and a technical plumbing program. State license is preferred, with day shifts available.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Plumber (or equivalent) required.
• High School Diploma, Vocational School or equivalent required.
• Plumbing program from technical school with courses in blueprint reading, sheet metal work, mechanical drawing, electrical wiring, and plumbing.
• State Plumbing License Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Installs and repairs pipes and fixtures (sinks, toilets, safety showers, eyewashes) for water, gas, steam, air, or other liquids.
• Installs supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation.
• Performs inspections on interceptors, separators, and acid neutralizers.
• Replaces faucets and plumbing fixtures; installs piping from 1/2 inch to 8 inch; snakes drainage.
• Tests backflow devices; installs hot water tanks.
• Inspects, maintains and repairs Fire Protection Systems (sprinklers, standpipes, pumps, dry chemical piping).
• Reads and works from blueprints and sketches to complete workload efficiently.
• Performs other maintenance duties as assigned by supervisor or lead.
