Job summary

MidMichigan Health is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform routine and preventative maintenance, install, lubricate and repair equipment across the Medical Center and grounds. You will read orders, sketches, drawings and manufacturer specifications to guide work.

You will apply skills in plumbing, masonry, carpentry, refrigeration and electricity, and operate steam boiler equipment, air compressors, domestic water systems and cooling towers.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment typically gained with 2–3 years in maintenance.
  • Ability to interpret prints, schematic specifications and codes.

Responsibilities

  • Works from verbal and written orders, sketches, drawings and manufacturer's specifications.
  • Lays out, constructs, covers, alters, and repairs using plumbing, masonry, carpentry, refrigeration and electricity.
  • Operates and maintains steam boiler equipment, air compressors, domestic water systems and cooling towers.
  • Performs programmed maintenance, installs, lubricates and repairs equipment; responsible for materials and solutions used.
  • Performs cleaning, moves and stores equipment; operates snow/ice removal tools; maintains grounds and parking lots.
  • Follows governing agencies and safety procedures; completes timely records; mentors less experienced staff.
  • Performs other duties including sign fabrication/installation and general tool use.
  • Maintains records and demonstrates Windows competency; participates in learning opportunities.
