Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a General Maintenance Engineer to support hospital operations across the Prescott Valley complex. You will perform carpentry, painting and routine maintenance, assist skilled tradesmen, and repair mechanical equipment to keep facilities safe and functional.

You will apply versatile maintenance skills, work proactively, and collaborate with a team to ensure seamless operation of hospital buildings and equipment, from patient areas to support spaces.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• One (1) year of experience in one or more of the trades.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains responsibility for the quality of individual workmanship in all projects completed and judicious use of all materials and supplies
• Performs diagnostic, trouble-shooting functions on mechanical and electrical systems
• Performs plumbing functions, relating to installation of new equipment and repairs of old equipment
• Performs routine preventive maintenance functions on a scheduled basis, as directed by the preventive maintenance work orders.
• Ability to construct, repair and/or maintain furniture, partitions, doors, windows, floors and hospital framework when requested: ability to use power tools during the performance of such tasks
• Ability to prepare surfaces for painting; apply various types of paints to interior and exterior surfaces; and use equipment such as scaffolds, ladders, etc. in a safe manner
