Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Laredo in Laredo, TX, is seeking an experienced Facility Maintenance Engineer to oversee plant operations, maintenance, and monitoring of hospital mechanical and electrical systems in a 24/7 environment. This is an experienced level role with on-call after hours and weekend rotations.

You will perform rounds, log data, respond to issues, coordinate vendors, and work with the operations team to ensure safe, reliable facilities and timely work order closure.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• 1–3 years experience in hospital maintenance or construction trades.
• Ability to perform basic maintenance work.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Good written and communication skills.
• Basic understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a Hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Make equipment and building rounds; log data on mechanical, electrical, and other systems.
• Respond to call backs and remedy issues; escalate when needed.
• Direct vendors to routine work areas; facilitate repairs and installations as needed.
• Crossover work with the operations team on joint departmental efforts.
• Promptly respond and close work orders and tickets; update records.
• Record machinery history and report problems to Facilities Supervisor.
• Operate, monitor, and respond to abnormal facility conditions.
• Apply knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and building monitoring systems per policy.
