Heart Hospital of Austin is seeking a Director of Hospital Facilities Management to lead the integrity and safe operation of the facility, ensuring patient care environments meet regulatory standards. The role oversees power, HVAC, safety programs and preventive maintenance, with emphasis on collaboration with clinical teams and contractors.

Qualified candidates bring extensive hospital facilities experience, supervisory background, and an engineering-focused education.

Qualifications

• Ten years’ experience in related trades with hospital-focused work (at least five years).
• Minimum of three years supervisory experience.
• Associate’s Degree in Plant or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Ensure hospital remains in compliance with State, Federal and JCAHO requirements.
• Assign staff to scheduled/unscheduled work and supervise the Plant Operations.
• Maintain safe and continuous operation of the power plant, medical gas system and utilities.
• Develop and implement policies for plant operations.
• Manage the preventive maintenance program and equipment history log.
• Provide in-service training and evaluate staff performance.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to schedule maintenance affecting patient care.
• Coordinate with outside contractors on outsourced projects.
• Maintain confidentiality of hospital operation information.
