Job summary

HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is seeking a Director of Facilities Management to optimize daily operations across a large facility. The role coordinates maintenance, projects, and staff to ensure safety and regulatory compliance while managing budget and resources.

The DFM will apply building science knowledge to energy-efficient operations, supervise CMMS tasks, and lead succession planning for facility leadership in collaboration with executive teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• 1+ year of hospital or acute-care experience required.
• HICS training is required.
• CHFM certification within 3 years of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute strategic goals for the Facility Management department.
• Lead and develop teams, delegating tasks and responsibilities.
• Collaborate with executives and site teams across disciplines.
• Maintain safety, regulatory compliance and quality standards.
• Oversee maintenance programs, budgets, and vendor contracts.
• Manage life safety, HVAC, electrical and utility systems.
• Ensure compliance with Life Safety Code and OSHA guidelines.
• Supervise work orders, preventative maintenance, and staffing.
