Job summary

Crothall Healthcare in Virginia is seeking a Healthcare Facilities Management Director to lead the Plant Operations & Maintenance departments within a hospital campus. The role focuses on planning, prioritizing, and controlling activities under the contract.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree (preferred), extensive director-level experience in acute care facilities, and strong knowledge of building systems, regulatory codes, and CMMS tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5 years responsibility at a director level in engineering, maintenance, and construction in an acute care hospital or healthcare setting.
• Prior facilities management experience in an acute care hospital required.
• Proficiency in CMMS, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• CHFM certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare building mechanical, structural, and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with NFPA, TJC, CMS, DNV, EPA, and OSHA codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and evaluates existing programs, services, policies and procedures.
• Meets with hospital client and staff to plan and communicate programs and policies.
• Supervises workflow to ensure quality and adherence to facility standards.
• Prepares and leads departmental budgets, including energy and utilities programs.
• Ensures compliance with Joint Commission, state health dept, EPA, and other regs.
• Supervises performance and conducts evaluations for assigned personnel.
• Guides staff on personnel relations and answers questions.
• Plans, coordinates, and supervises construction and development of facilities.
• Reviews plans for construction and approves them when appropriate.
• Serves as liaison with contractors, architects, engineers, and suppliers.
