Job summary

University Health is developing a new Retama Park Hospital in Selma, Texas, adding 166 beds with planned expansion to 286. The role oversees Plant Engineering, ensuring maintenance of critical hospital infrastructure and utilities, with a focus on safety, efficiency and reliability.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least six years of supervisory experience in physical plant and healthcare, plus hospital- environment familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architectural/Engineering or related field; Civil, Mechanical or Electrical preferred or related business degree.
• Minimum of six years supervisory experience in physical plant / civil engineering and health care activities is preferred.
• Experience with central utility plant equipment (chiller, steam boilers, hydraulic systems, building controls, electrical, and air handlers) in a hospital environment is required.
• Preferred candidate will have at least two years as Facilities Director in a hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently manages the Plant Engineering Department through schedules, controls, procurement and proper storage of equipment and supplies, and sound fiscal and productivity programs.
• Directly responsible for ensuring building, grounds, machinery, utilities, and distribution systems are maintained in good operating condition and repaired promptly and efficiently.
