Advocate Health is seeking a diligent Hospital Housekeeper to perform floor care, room cleans, waste handling, and medical waste disposal in a hospital setting. You will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and staff, handling routine tasks with attention to detail and safety guidelines.

The role requires basic computer skills, ability to operate small electrical equipment, and strong English communication for effective coordination with team members and patients.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
• 1-2 years experience with prior housekeeping preferred.
• Basic computer skills desired.
• Able to operate small electrical equipment (e.g., vacuum cleaners).
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English regarding essential job activities.

Responsibilities

• Scrub, strips, polish and refinish floors using appropriate equipment and supplies.
• Operate cleaning equipment (mechanical and electrical) such as ringers, vacuums, electric floor machines, sweepers.
• Clean or sanitize after emergencies and spills as requested.
• Maintain hard surface floors and carpets following department processes.
• Display professionalism and courtesy to patients, families, and hospital staff while protecting confidential information.
• Assist with furniture arrangement for meetings and events as required.
• Complete discharge room and OR cleaning to support hospital needs.
