Job summary

CHI Health Nebraska Heart is seeking an Environmental Services Technician (EVS) to join a team dedicated to a safe, sanitized environment for patients, visitors and staff in Lincoln. You will learn proper disinfection and waste handling, work with PPE and follow hospital safety practices.

Daily duties include cleaning patient areas, operating floor cleaners, handling waste streams, and reporting maintenance needs. No prior experience required; a High School Diploma is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and disinfects patient, ancillary and public areas daily following procedures.
• Operates manual, battery-powered and electric equipment such as floor cleaners and vacuums; maintains equipment safely.
• Handles and disposes of designated waste streams and soiled linens per protocol; inspects EVS equipment.
• Performs discharge room cleans as needed.
• Follows hospital Safety, Risk Management and Infection Control procedures.
• Identifies and reports maintenance/refurbishing needs.
