Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking an Environmental Services Worker II to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming hospital environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include floor care, waste handling, linen management, and general cleaning in accordance with infection control standards.

The role requires 1-3 years of experience in environmental services and knowledge of cleaning procedures. Certification in Healthcare Cleaning is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in environmental services, housekeeping, custodial work, or hospital facility maintenance.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures and floor care techniques.
• Ability to safely handle biohazardous and infectious waste.
• Good communication and teamwork in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs floor care tasks (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waxing, shampooing).
• Collects and disposes of waste following policy and guidelines.
• Handles soiled linens and replaces with clean bags.
• Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, restrooms, halls, offices and common areas.
• Responds to spills and contamination cleanups with proper disinfection.
