Job summary

Alameda Health System seeks an SLH Environmental Services Worker for the San Leandro Hospital in San Leandro, CA. This full-time, evening shift position involves cleaning, trash removal, and specialized infection-control procedures in a hospital setting.

Under close supervision, you will perform a variety of housekeeping duties in accordance with infection-control standards, maintain clean areas, and support patient care surroundings. Eligible employees receive a comprehensive benefits program.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Education; and/or at least one year hospital experience.
• Minimum experience: Six months full-time cleaning experience in hospitals or commercial buildings preferred.
• PAY RANGE: $34.90- $37.12 /per hour The pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System.

Responsibilities

• Transports and empties trash and sharp objects receptacles by depositing refuse in specified collection areas.
• Cleans light fixtures, wall vents and dusting.
• Keeps records of work accomplished; fills out daily log sheet.
• Cleans isolation rooms and examining tables following special cleaning procedures.
• Power washes gurneys every 6 months.
• Cleans walls, windows, blinds and shades; changes cubicle curtains and draperies.
• Disinfects bathrooms and maintains supplies; uses 10 step cleaning process. Restocks supplies.
• Maintains assigned area clean; sweeps, mops, dusts, and arranges furniture; vacuums rugs and buffers.
• May operate incinerators and trash compactor on assignment.
• Sets up beds and rooms; cleans meeting rooms; uses platform truck and movers.
