Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to keep patient rooms and hospital areas clean and sanitized, contributing to patient and staff safety.

Daily duties include sweeping, mopping, dusting, and restocking supplies, with specialized cleaning methods to further sanitize the facility. You will learn proper disposal of biohazard materials and assist with safety guidelines across the team.

Qualifications

• Education and/or healthcare experience to perform essential functions.
• High School diploma or GED preferred with healthcare exposure.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily cleaning and disinfection of patient areas, equipment, and spaces.
• Follows infection prevention, safety, HIPAA, PPE, hand hygiene, and waste handling guidelines.
• Demonstrates knowledge of healthcare cleaning principles and safe chemical usage.
• Maintains cleaning carts, supplies, and equipment to meet standards.
• Collaborates with care team, shows critical thinking and accountability.
• Supports operations, mentors new staff, and assists with facility needs.
