Job summary

Cone Health is seeking an Environmental Service Technician to clean and disinfect patient areas, treatment areas, restrooms, and public spaces at Moses Cone and Wesley Long campuses. The role operates under supervision and adheres to environmental and infection prevention standards to prevent illness in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include documenting cleaning tasks, communicating with supervisors, monitoring supplies, and maintaining equipment and storage areas.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Six (6) months to one (1) year previous customer service experience in a healthcare services department.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and disinfects patient areas, treatment areas, restrooms, and public spaces per departmental standards.
• Documents performed cleaning tasks on the appropriate forms to record items accurately.
• Communicates effectively with the supervisor to keep them informed of responsibilities and resolve issues.
• Assists in monitoring supply levels to balance departmental supply needs and budgets.
• Maintains cleanliness and functioning of equipment and storage areas.
• Treats and removes carpet stains to maintain a clean appearance.
• Assists in selection and use of cleaning agents and equipment to safeguard against damage and clean effectively.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
