Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an Environmental Services Project Tech to maintain a clean and safe hospital environment. The role involves floor care, disinfection, and applying cleaning protocols across patient rooms and treatment areas.

The position requires 1-2 years of experience, good reading skills in English, and the ability to operate cleaning equipment safely. Weekend rotations and evening hours are required as part of the shift schedule.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience.
• Must be able to read English and understand equipment manuals

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned restoration of hard surface resilient floor care. Stripping, shower scrubbing, finish application and burnishing of floors.
• Projects include upholstery cleaning, wall washing, cubicle curtain/drapes (assembly/disassemble), light cleaning and ledge cleaning.
• Completes Altrapure (disinfecting system) process to all assigned patient rooms, surgical suites, clinical and treatment areas and ancillary areas.
• Assignment and tracking of rooms, set-up, machine operations and breakdown; uses equipment and chemicals safely; PPE usage.
