Job summary

St. Charles Health System is seeking an Environmental Services Attendant to maintain cleanliness across hospital interiors with emphasis on patient and caregiver safety.

The role reports to the Environmental Services Manager and requires CHEST certification within 6 months of hire; high school diploma or GED preferred. Prior janitorial experience is a plus; flexible second shift and relief duties are common in this position.

Qualifications

• CHEST certification required within 6 months of hire.
• High school diploma or GED preferred (equivalent education/experience will be considered).
• Prior professional janitorial/housekeeping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains cleanliness of hospital interior areas with high accuracy and attention to detail to protect patient and caregiver safety.
• Follows department and hospital sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean and safe environment.
• Cleans toilets, basins, showers, walls, floors and fixtures using appropriate cleaning supplies.
• Transports, disposes of waste and soiled linen according to procedures.
• Operates cleaning equipment safely and reports any equipment issues to management.
• Supports quality improvement initiatives and maintains professional, confidential conduct.
