Job summary

UMC Health System in Texas is seeking an Environmental Services Worker focused on infection control and sanitation across hospital and site campuses. Reports to the Supervisor, Environmental Services.

You will perform housekeeping in patient rooms and public areas, handle isolation rooms, exchange linen and sharp boxes, and support departments. Preferred candidates hold a high school diploma and hospital cleaning experience.

Qualifications

• Preferred: High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year housekeeping or environmental service experience in a hospital setting.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide housekeeping services in patient rooms and assigned areas; may involve exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
• Clean public areas including vacuuming, baseboards, vents, and elevators.
• Disinfect isolation rooms and clean bathrooms; handle waste and spot clean.
• Exchange full and empty sharp boxes.
• Deliver clean linen carts to storage areas and maintain orderly utility rooms.
• Perform other Environmental Services duties as assigned.
